i don’t run a food blog…

But somehow I’m here, writing this to you all. It’s a blog, it’s about food, and I’m the author.

Hi everyone, my name is Amara and I’m here to share with you some great recipes that I’ve gathered up over the last few years from my family. As the eldest child, grandchild, and you guessed it, GREAT-grandchild on my mother’s side, I’ve started my own family. Now the majority of the cooking for us has been taken up by me. It’s a combination of my mixed heritage, including southern comfort and Italian-American, all while upholding the Levitical food laws.

These recipes range from traditional, long standing tastes, to new dishes that have my own spin. Don’t worry. I listened to the ancestors when adding the spices and my equally mixed husband confirms if it’s acceptable or not! Questionable foods that are still in the practice phase wont be added here until they’re tried and true. When you visit this site, you’ll be getting great recipes to use for your own family that are a’okayed by mine.

Now that you know the contents of what’s happening here, let’s focus on that title. It’s not a “food blog”. Not the ones that go into long, over drawn stories that you have to scroll endlessly through before reaching a subpar recipe. We’re busy. We’re rushing. We got people to feed and I don’t have time to read your life story before getting to the good stuff. Here, you’ll get to the meat at the top of the page. If you’re interested in the background of how it got here, then scroll down and immerse yourself in the rich history that I’ll lay out for you. No skimming, no rapid scrolling to inevitably skip past the collapsed ingredients list. None of that.

I don’t run a food blog. I run a recipe warehouse chock full of great food. Welcome and I hope you enjoy!
